1 Oct–27 Nov 2024 Israeli invasion of Lebanon ▲

Shortly after the outbreak of war between Hamas and Israel in October 2023, the Lebanon-based paramilitary group Hezbollah began a series of cross border attacks on Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian cause. In response, Israel launched its own attacks—including the September 2024 detonation of thousands of Hezbollah’s handheld pagers and the killing of multiple Hezbollah leaders in Beirut—before mounting a full-scale offensive against Hezbollah bases in southern Lebanon in October 2024. In the almost two months of fighting which followed, the Israelis killed some 2,700 Hezbollah militants and/or Lebanese civilians for the loss of 56 soldiers, but finally agreed to a ceasefire under the mediation of France and the United States in late November. in wikipedia

27 Nov–8 Dec 2024 Overthrow of Bashar al-Assad ▲

In response to a recent Syrian Army artillery attack on Idlib, HTS—the armed wing of the Syrian Salvation Government (SSG)—launched an offensive in northwest Syria in late November 2024 and swiftly captured the major city of Aleppo, encouraging other rebel factions to also attack the Syrian government. Within the space of just eleven days, HTS advanced through Hama and Homs to Damascus, defeating belated Russian and Iranian attempts to save the regime, and compelling President Bashar al-Assad to flee to Moscow.
