When Trump was defeated by Joe Biden in the 2020 election (United States presidential election, 2020), he refused to concede (Attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election) and on 6 January 2021 hundreds of his supporters stormed and briefly occupied the US Capitol (2021 storming of the United States Capitol) in an attempt to disrupt the formalization of Biden’s victory.
