Political map of Sub-Saharan Africa 14 November 1915 (Conquest of Kamerun): Despite the setbacks of 1914, by 1915 the Allies had managed to secure the coast of the German colony of Kamerun (Kamerun Campaign) and overrun most of Neukamerun (the southern and eastern territories France had ceded to the Germans in 1911). In May they launched their first attacks on the colonial capital of Jaunde (First Battle of Jaunde), eventually capturing it in January 1916 (Second Battle of Jaunde). The Germans at Mora, under siege since August 1914, finally surrendered in February (Siege of Mora), bringing an end to all resistance in the colony.
