Russia 1927: Rise of Stalin

Lenin had fallen seriously ill in 1922 and died in 1924. His followers competed for power until late 1926, when Joseph Stalin, the General Secretary of the Communist Party, finally emerged victorious. Crushing all perceived dissent, Stalin would forcefully industrialize the Soviet Union over the following years.
